EDSS 521 Lesson Planning Blog Post #2

My overall lesson designing is helping to develop the teenage brain because it activates all aspects of memory and pushes students to use critical thinking and real world applications of the language.

Short term memory is called upon in every class period as we are constantly rolling out new material and having them use active memory to complete an assignment using the newly learned concept.

Long term memory is then accessed when we assign homework based around the new concept that was practiced during class time. In addition, students are always building on what they have learned.

Students are engaged in learning because we use multiple modalities to teach material. We have students work in partners, groups, as a whole class, etc. And we call upon all aspects of literacy and second language acquisition. In each class period we call upon students abilities to read, write, listen and speak in Spanish. In addition, there are clear objectives while they are practicing the language, students perform to have a specific outcome or assignment.
